This position will be part of the Global Technology Centers and will support selected programs related to the TGEE and Merchant Gas business areas. The successful candidate will provide hands-on support for existing reactor and catalyst test systems and help with building or modifying systems as additional needs are defined. Job responsibilities include start-up and turn-down of reactor systems, changing catalysts and gas cylinders, operation of auxiliary analytical equipment associated with these reactor systems. In addition, the candidate will have safety responsibility for laboratory operations, including participation in hazard reviews, maintaining laboratory notebooks, keeping chemical inventory up to date. Qualifications/Skills: - A degree in chemistry or a physical science (Associate's degree minimum), industrial experience is a strong plus - Hands-on experience with gas handling systems or high temperature and high pressure operations is desired - Candidate must have sound mechanical knowledge and skills - Candidate must have a strong awareness of and a good track record in safety - Candidate must be able to conduct laboratory or pilot scale experiments and compile results - Candidate will be required to maintain a notebook and other documentation of experimental work - Candidate must function well in a multi-disciplinary team environment - Candidate must be fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint - Some off-hour or weekend work is periodically required.
