Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a MAINTENANCE SUPPORT MANAGER for plants located in the Eastern and Midwest regions of the U.S. The position is based in Allentown, PA and reports directly to the Manager – Maintenance Technical Services.The Maintenance Support Manager provides maintenance leadership and technical support for all assigned process plants throughout the region to safely improve equipment reliability, plant on stream time, and maintenance spending. This position is responsible for consistent application of global Operations and Engineering standards, maintenance best practices, maintenance training, computerized maintenance management systems and work processes, and effective utilization of human resources across the organization.The incumbent has to work closely with senior operations line management and engineering leadership to ensure alignment with business objectives and effective coordination of engineering resources.Specific responsibilities include:• Management of all maintenance activities within the geographic area of responsibility. • Prepare and administer the annual maintenance budgets and strategic plan. Participate in short and long range planning and execution of essential programs, turnarounds, and processes. Participate in the development and implementation of regional strategic planning• Promote and enforce the administration of our safety processes, safety rules and good housekeeping methods. • Assist in the activities of the GSS Equipment Reliability program. Ensure plant PM programs are relevant and optimal for each plant. Drive the identification of the root cause of equipment/machinery failures and develop appropriate repair solutions to reduce recurrence of, or eliminate, if possible, cause of failure. Work in support of GSS Equipment Reliability Engineers.• Work closely with the Turnaround Planning team to provide safety leadership, scope definition, and onsite leadership in the planning and execution of major plant turnarounds in the Eastern Region.• Promote an atmosphere of team spirit through good example, open communication, good listening, and timely problem resolutions. • Achieve compliance with all procedures, standards, specifications, and codes, federal and statutory requirements. • Identify cost savings opportunities in purchased materials, spare parts, and contracted services by leveraging volumes and inventory across the organization. • Drive continuous improvement in safety performance, maintenance costs, reliability and cost of quality goals. Qualifications:- A minimum of 5 years experience working in a maintenance, engineering and/or operations management role is desired.- Strong direct and influence leadership abilities coupled with excellent broad based technical skills and good business acumen is required.- Strong organizational, planning, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential to the position- A track record of success in Safety, Reliability, Quality, and an ability to promote/develop maintenance excellence is desired.- Credibility and respect across the organization is important.
