Description: This position is responsible for the proactive optimization of cost effective maintenance & reliability (M&R) in support of L6S and business deliverables. Works in conjunction with the engineering department in authoring capital appropriation requests as necessary to provide a continuous improvement effort in maintaining and improving production equipment through reverse engineering and reliability upgrades. Is directly responsible for improving total uptime performance through managing the preventative/predictive maintenance programs, maintenance supervisors, planners, and craft employees. Provides technical training opportunities for all associates in order to increase skill and knowledge bases. Principle Responsibilities: Creates, aggressively implements & maintains the plant MMCI Plan and Roadmap aligned with plant / BU priorities. Proactively evaluates & leads refinement of overall equipment reliability plans, strategies, equipment performance & RCFA effectiveness. Manages overall facility maintenance & infrastructure to ensure the most effective use of resources & funding balanced for both short & long range plans. Champions a proactive PM driven culture that optimizes cost effective maintenance & reliability for the line / plant Ensures necessary skill sets are developed, refined & maintained Supports the plant teams in reviewing / developing operating standards, line speeds, OEE etc to identify and capitalize on improvement opportunities. Coaches, mentors & develops M&R staff Supports Operations' ability to run effective QCDSM meetings , ensuring appropriate use of metrics & data to drive asset reliability & CI Prepares and maintains annual and long range capital budgets for the facility. Prioritizes projects based on external/internal quality, safety, and environmental compliance. Additionally, address any technology obsolescence issues and other equipment and plant requirements Manages engineering personnel and activities for all project work including: layouts, scope, design, savings analysis, drawing management, and adherence to all local, state, and federal rules and regulations. Qualifications Education & Work Requirements: Bachelors of Science (In an Engineering discipline) Electrical preferred, Instrumentation or mechanical Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a highly automated manufacturing maintenance environment with the responsibility to effectively manage maintenance to high standards of equipment reliability and overall equipment effectiveness Minimum 5 + years of experience as maintenance supervisor, project manager, plant engineer or similar technical manufacturing leadership roles Champion of PM, TPM, RCFA and continuous process improvement Active understanding and involvement with facility safety and quality programs Familiarity and working knowledge of Work Order control procedures and computerized maintenance management systems, SAP preferred Strong computer application skills with Microsoft business products, AutoCad / Solid Works Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to influence, engage, negotiate and motivate. Must be able to articulate business priorities, expectations, provide clear direction, delegate responsibility and objectively manage in all situations Demonstrated experience leading and developing maintenance electrical, mechanical and instrumentation functions while maintaining safety and quality standards Strong technical problem solving to include troubleshooting activities relating to equipment failures, process and quality issues Visible leadership on the plant floor and in all levels of the organization Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, instrumentation and process control principles are required Understanding and experience with 3 phase, single phase and low voltage controls and circuitry. Must be knowledgeable in Allen Bradley Software - SLC 500, Control Logix, RS Linx, RS View, RS NetWorx Demonstrated experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming. Experience with networking and communication protocols, ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherNet, Profibus, Sercos, CanBus, etc Experience with the installation / troubleshooting of soft start, VFD and Servo controls and motors. Experience with I/O devices such as proximity switches, photo-eyes, laser sensors, conductivity sensors, transmitters, transducers, encoders, chart recorders, etc Experience with process controls and instrumentation to include the understanding of design, installation and functionality of : Process flow diagrams P&ID’s loop diagrams Pneumatic logic diagrams Instrument and calibration specifications and procedures Logic diagrams ( ladder logic, function / flow block, Boolean ) Elementary and interconnection diagrams One-line power and distribution diagrams Experience with understanding of current NEC and NFPA 70E regulations and compliance Required Skills & Competencies: Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership Encourages the sharing and use of best practices in setting high standards, recognizes errors and learns from them.
