Technical Development & Improvement, a department within our PPL Electric Utilities Corporation organization, is seeking two students to work full time (40 hours/week) during the summer xxxx semester in Allentown, PA. Position Summary A Cooperative Associate is a temporarily employed full-time college student in an accredited four-year institution of higher learning, who is offered a work-study program designed to give college students practical work experience in their field of study. This program often helps students determine career interests. Beyond the scope of the actual tasks performed, the student becomes familiar with a corporate environment and gains practical skills and knowledge to supplement their classroom experience. Primary Responsibilities Position will entail: - Creating self-paced modules and online instructor-led materials - Developing assessments and targeted evaluations - Collaborating with the development team on special projects and initiatives Co-ops will assist in projects like: - WMS to WAM conversion - CS Letter rewrites - CTP process improvements - Back-office billing training Candidate Qualifications Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration. Basic Qualifications - Enrolled in an accredited college or university program. - Enrolled in a curriculum leading to a baccalaureate or masters degree in Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, or a related field. - Enrolled on a full-time basis (12 semester hours). Students may not continue as a Co-operative Associate once they have graduated. - Have an acceptable overall grade point average, generally not lower than a 3.2. - Eligible to work in accordance with Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS) regulations. - Able to provide an official student transcript and other required information. - 18 years of age or older. Preferred Qualifications - Experience in the development of online training utilizing the following software: Trivantis Lectora, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Dreamweaver, and Adobe Photoshop. - Strong oral and written communication skills with an ability to plan, design, develop, deliver and evaluate educational programs according to established instructional systems design practices. - Familiarity with a variety of delivery methods including instructor-led training, online learning, blended learning, job aids, video and self-directed learning. - Demonstrated ability to apply principles of adult learning and learning styles to workplace safety training. - A strong customer service orientation and collaborative work style is critical. - Team oriented and self-motivated. - Excellent critical thinking skills and analytical ability, including the ability to think creatively and facilitate the development of concepts into training products that meet customer needs.
